I've said "re-enactment" before now. Most people take it that you mean historical re-enactment and don't press it any further. However, when I got asked "what period?" by someone at a job I went for in Aberystwyth, I said "Gondors war against Sauron". He got the joke, but I didn't get the job ... (Probably in hindsight nothing to do with admitting to being a LRPer - more that the person who got it had years more experience and qualifications than me ... still, I can always blame LRPing.)
