We
have had the pleasure of visiting many Romanesque churches in our
travels. There is a strong simplicity to their design and they have an
evocative quality of peace and reflectiveness. We often have these
visits to ourselves and take the opportunity to sing a latin chant.
The churches are generally small and ther acoustics good and this adds
to the quality of our visit. There are many churches and these pages
make no claim to be comprehensive by area, but are rather a personal
reflection of our experiences. We revisit these areas and if you know a
Romanesque church of which you are particularly fond, let us know and
we will seek it out the next time around. These pages grow out of our
interest in
Carolingian sites,
primarily in France.
