Brian Ransom, born in Portland, Oregon in 1954, currently teaches ceramics at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. He has been exhibiting and performing on his original ceramic musical instruments and sound sculptures throughout the U.S. as well as internationally for the past eighteen years. He has made many of his own recordings of his musical instruments including film and dance scores, as well as being featured on other recordings. Brian has won several significant fellowships and grants which include Oregon Arts Commission, California Arts Commission, Fulbright/Hays Fellowship-Peru, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
