The following works were inspired by a pre-Columbian concept where moving water displaces air and creates sound by a back and forth rocking motion. The original South American pieces were smaller and hand held. In these pieces, I have added rockers and considerable abstraction to their design, as well as three in place of the usual two vessels. My pieces are interactive and are usually vapor-fired with terra sigilatta slips.
