We Won! Eckerd students, faculty, and staff voted the Swing Club "Best Social Club of the Year" for 2002-2003! Gina and Laura B. accepted the award at the ECademy Awards ceremony. Achievements by EC swingers during the year included: Organizing "Swingin' the Pub" dances Representing Eckerd at Christmas in the Santa Parade in downtown St. Petersburg Hiring instructors to teach East Coast, Lindy, Charleston, the Shim Sham, and styling Performing at the College Harbor nursing home Dancing at the request of the African American Society at their "Evening at the Cotton Club" event Representing Eckerd at major dance events in St. Petersburg, Tampa, and Orlando Hosting a special "Swingin' the Pub" dance, at the request of the Office of Admissions, during Prospective Student Weekend.
